Stress is one of the most common problems in society leading to relationship absenteeism and sickness and causing relationship strain. This is why this year the Mental Health Foundation are focusing on stress for Mental Health Awareness Week. We are pleased to announce that we will be holding an open afternoon. This free event will comprise a stress management workshop/focus group and a talk and discussion on mindfulness, its practice and uses. We are hoping to have someone lead us in a taster session. The afternoon will conclude with relaxation to a CD with guided imagery made by our founder Frances Heather, who was an Occupational Therapist in mental health for over thirty years. The afternoon will be informative, but relaxed and a time of sharing rather than a lecture. People are welcome to bring mats but pillows will be provided and people can sit in chairs or adopt whatever comfortable position they wish. Wear comfortable, warm loose clothing. Juices and biscuits will be provided. Anyone welcome. Please bring friends.
