We invite you to join us at West Quay Mall, Level 1, next Thursday, 7th February, at 12 noon for an exotic treat from Master Chef Shelina Permalloo (of Lakaz Maman) for Time to Talk Day. She’ll be sharing inspired recipes from her award-winning cuisine and her own personal story about how she talks about mental health issues. You’ll also have an opportunity to get advice and information from local organisations including Time to Change; Solent Mind; Radian Housing; No Limits; Samaritans; Southampton Voluntary Services; Carers in Southampton; and Southampton Central Libraries.

The next Time to Thrive course starts Thursday 7th February 2-4pm at Board in the City, 38 Onslow Road. The course will give you inspiration and tools to improve your wellbeing and make the most of life. Feedback from the last course: “Through the course I have rediscovered my self esteem and self worth and my self motivation to engage my life again. I feel alive”. If you are interested in coming along you need to sign up and pay the deposit ASAP so we can confirm numbers.

On 31st and there after the group will be regularly on a Thursday 10.30 am - 1.30 pm. The group will involve designing, digital imaging, image transfer and producing saleable work for income generation for Creative Options as well as learning transferable skills The workshop is free! There is a photography field trip leaving Freemantle Community Centre at 12 noon on Tuesday 15th January. Contribution towards fuel will be needed please. Normally field trips will be 2nd Tuesday in every month but the field trip will be different for January because of the Christmas break
Creative Options Annual General Meeting for 2019 with Trustees and members will be at 11.30 am on Wednesday February 6th at Freemantle United Reformed Church.
There will be a Trustee meeting before hand at 10.30 am. Can the Chairperson, Vice-Chair and Secretary all attend this meeting as well as the AGM please. Can everyone else attend at 11.30 a.m. Nominations for role of chairperson, vice-chair, secretary and treasurer to be submitted by 16th January. Current Treasurer Frances Heather is continuing to stand for the time being. Chairperson, secretary and vice-chair to be decided - but current holders are eligible to stand again and need to give notification of their wish to stand by 16th January. We are also looking for ticket agents to sell tickets. For every 12 tickets sold there is 1 free ticket available. We are also seeking raffle prizes. See below for more details. There are two job vacancies with Creative Options 4 hours on a Wednesday 10.30 - 2.30 p.m. - male preferred due to balance in the team and practical support required. 2 hrs on a Friday 10.30 - 12.30 p.m. male support worker for men's group. Preference will be given to people with lived experience of mental health issues & applicants need to have an understanding of mental health needs to apply. Ideal first step back to working. Lots of support will be given. One person can apply for both jobs or the jobs can be separated.
