Many thanks to all our staff, members and wonderful volunteers who came and helped put on our vintage tea and those who came along to enjoy the afternoon and support it. We were particularly delighted to see some of our member's families, old friends and supporters come along. Thanks is given to all those who gave raffle prizes and promoted the event. Despite the rain we had 63 people turn up to enjoy the afternoon. We had the wonderful Becki Short, vintage singer who entertained us. Jo, our fabulous volunteer, did a wonderful 1940's quiz and Rose was the overall winner with a full 15 points! We then had some moving poetry and prose from Kevin Charles Bowers, a friend from Southampton University Players, who read excerpts from 'The fallen' which was performed in the summer for the commemoration of World War II. Then we were entertained by the mysterious 'George' who apparently disappeared in 1953 and came back for the occasion and played his 1940's music. It was really Ron in disguise and he also had his old friend 'Patakins' who was his early childhood sweetheart at the tender age of 3 yrs! - see the original picture of them sat side by side (how sweet!). Well done everyone who won prizes in the raffle. A jolly good time was had by all - here's to the next one - different theme - how about Abba?
